After 16 years eircom decided it was time to rebrand. The rebrand from eircom to eir establishes an identity that better reflects the company as it is today and better reflects their product offering specifically that they are the only telecoms provider to offer quadplay – broadband, home phone, mobile and TV. The rebrand coincided with the roll out of Ireland’s fastest broadband, with speeds of up to 1000Mb.

Solution

The ‘We are’ campaign launched on September 16th 2015 and marked the re-brand of eircom to a revitalised and modernised eir. eir is a business that is committed to change and to meeting the evolving needs of its customers. The strapline of the advertising campaign is ‘Live life on eir’. eir is a play on the word ‘air’ - which is essential to life.

The TV ad, which is one part of a multi layered campaign, is a powerful piece of film featuring emotive scenes and stunning Irish landscape. The music track ‘Fionnghuala’ is a modern take on an iconic piece of traditional music and was the perfect choice given its power and deep roots in Irish culture and heritage.
